Easton – On July 14, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle on Black Dog Alley near Dover Road for suspicion of drug activity. An investigation had begun several weeks earlier directed at Christopher Lee Baker, 28 of Easton, MD, who was believed to be transporting heroin into Talbot County from Delaware. A search and seizure warrant was obtained authorizing the search of Baker’s vehicle which was executed after a surveillance of Baker and the vehicle revealed a trip to Seaford, DE on this date. During the search of the vehicle, Baker was found to be in possession of fifty-one (51) individual packets of suspected heroin. An additional search of the vehicle and a passenger, Tracy Earl Sherwood, 44 of Easton, MD revealed drug paraphernalia and a small amount of crack cocaine. Baker and Sherwood were charged with possession of CDS with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS and paraphernalia. Both were ordered held at the Talbot County Detention Center pending bond reviews.
Easton – On July 18, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office observed a 1995 Honda driving erratically on the Easton Bypass near Oxford Road. The vehicle was stopped and the operator, Willis Shepley Kemp, 33 of Easton, MD was found to be driving while intoxicated. A search of Kemp and his vehicle was conducted and an amount of marijuana and a smoking device were located in the vehicle. Kemp was charged with possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and driving while intoxicated. Kemp was taken before a District Court Commissioner and released.
Easton – On July 19, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a 2007 Hyundai for an equipment violation. Upon contact with the operator, the Deputy noted an infant in the rear of the vehicle not seated in a child safety seat. Further questioning of the occupants led to the request for a consent search, which was granted. A search revealed a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia, which a passenger, Jennifer Helen Finamore, 23 of Jessup, MD admitted ownership. Finamore was issued a criminal citation charging her with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and released on her signature.
