Award winners for the St. Michaels Art League Members’ Show were chosen by Easton Artist and Troika Gallery co-owner, Laura Era. Laura is nationally known for her commissioned portrait work which hangs in galleries throughout the U.S. and Europe.
First place went to George Hamilton for his Impressionistic oil painting, “Sheep Barns”. ” Wing Up”, a representational oil by Deborah McFarlin, was awarded Second Place. Anne Allbeury Hock’s, “Adirondack Falls”, which captured the light and colors of the mountains was chosen for third place.
Honorable mentions went to: “Bee Man”, by Jane Anderson, and June Hock’s “Egret”.
The exhibit of original art can be seen in the gallery of the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Library at 106 Fremont St. until May 31st during regular library hours: Monday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Art work may be purchased directly through the artist.
