What is the raio of daily positives to daily tests. It appears that we are seeing a slight jump in the number of cases over the past week. What are th Talbot County Health Dept thoughts about this?

“Potayto, potahto.” What some might term a “slight uptick” has – to those tracking the actual published numbers vs. accompanying printed/spoken and often misleading words – instead the appearance of an alarming trend: (1) 20% of new Talbot County cases reported have come in the last week (out of the 30 weeks since the first Talbot County case appeared), (2) the case-count doubling rate for the County appears to be nearly 3x that of the current overall number for the State of Maryland, and this week’s daily average case-count increase (including a flat period from lack of reporting during the weekend) is 50% greater than the average over the past two weeks. Looking at the State’s data for the County ZIP codes, nearly all of that recent increase has come inside the Easton ZIP code, including the 5 additional cases the state is reporting that the County is not. There are strong indications in the data that these increases are likely from community spread, and the unmasked throngs seen on local sidewalks and the recent large increase in out-of-state license plates seen from current hot-spot areas around the country (e.g., FL, GA, TX) during recent weekends are an even less comforting trend.
