Spy Habitat Price Points: What $700,000 to $1,000,000 Buys You in Talbot County

November 4, 2017 by Jennifer Martella

This week’s feature is a property listed for $899,000 at 22601 Anna May Drive in Wittman.

I live in Wittman and this house originally arrived as a pre-fab one day on the back of a truck on its way to a waterfront lot on Cummings Creek. It was a “plain vanilla” house that became “neopolitan” though the creative efforts of its current owners.

I liked how they transformed the house by first adding a front porch and a rear screened porch that changed the geometry of the original box. They also changed the house style by adding Dutch Colonial eaves at the gable end walls. Their finishing touches of new lap siding and window shutters to complete the curb appeal.

I also liked how they opened up the ground floor to create a living/dining/ kitchen area. Hardwood floors unify the space and the white cabinets and white upholstered pieces create a clean and spacious look. The dining tale is centered on three windows with views to Cummings Creek. The black wood stove and flue is a great sculptural element in the living room. The spacious rear screened porch with views to Cummings Creek is a terrific outdoor room. A great weekend retreat or full time home!

For more information about this property contact Dawn Lednum with Chesapeake Bay Real Estate Plus LLC at 410-745-6702 (o) 410-829-3603 (c) or [email protected], “Equal Housing Opportunity”.

These homes are lovely, but I’ve been wondering if, for the rest of us, you might feature some homes in the $100,000-$500,000 range.
    Thanks.

Hi Sara, thank you for your comment. Actually, every week we select a different price point, two in the range you suggest. One is $100K to 250K and from $250K to $700K. Hope that helps.
