This is a very interesting article with many good points but, given the already advanced state of climate change, we cannot hope to reproduce the same conditions of nature that Harriet Tubman lived under. As the author points out, however, the new Tubman Visitor Center and nearby Blackwater Wildlife Refuge together offer a comparable experience for those wishing to share the experience of her early life. I was surprised at her description near the beginning of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge as a “low-slung crossing.”
