There are very few joys greater for the local music lover than to know that great performers live among them. That’s the case with Talbot County’s own Kenny Knopp and the Miles River Band. They are set to perform at the Avalon’s Stoltz Room this Friday night.
With a typical set for this Easton-based group that includes everything from The Beatles to The Rolling Stones, from The Violent Femmes to Jack White, and even classic country from Willie, Merle, Hank, and the great (yet rarely performed) Townes Van Zandt, they have made their own mark on Eastern Shore.
Lead singer Kenny Knopp has a rich, deep voice that should reverberate nicely within the cozy Stoltz Listening Room. J. Guy George, formerly with the popular local act Grateful Floyd, plays lead guitar and occasionally bass. They’re both rounded out by the heavenly vocals of Charish Arthur and pulsing rhythms of Shea Springer’s drumming.
