St. Michaels Rotary Helps Beat the Heat with Free Pool Passes

July 16, 2025 by Rotary Club of St. Michaels

Share

Bay Hundred Community Pool has been providing refreshing relief from summer heat for area families since it first opened in 2002. The pool hosts hundreds of children for swimming lessons each week as well as loads of wet fun throughout each day. A Talbot County Recreation Program facility, the pool is open daily From Memorial Day until Labor Day.

The hot days of summer are here and many of our community’s children beat the heat by swimming in the Bay Hundred Community Pool. But not every family can afford the $200
seasonal pass (which provides access for two adults and two children).

Recognizing that there are children in the St. Michaels’ community who do not have access to the community pool, the St. Michaels Rotary Club worked with Talbot County Parks and Recreation to purchase 500 individual day passes. These day passes are being distributed free of charge through the St. Michaels Police Department (100 Fremont Street) and the St. Michaels Community Center (103 Railroad Avenue).
Anyone in need of a pass for themselves or their children can visit either location to request a pass.
St. Michaels Rotary Club recognized the need, especially during this particularly hot summer, and found a solution through a charitable contribution from its club foundation.
Anyone interested in learning about the St. Michaels Rotary Club can read about its purpose and activities by going to https://www.rotarystm.org/about-us.html or contact its President, Bonnie Morris, at 301-643-7809.
