The Talbot Cinema Society recently received some bad news. Easton Premier Cinemas, where TCS usually meets, will be under construction throughout the society’s 2018-2019 season. So TCS will be unable to meet there.
Then came the good news. The Talbot Cinema Society will hold its monthly meetings in the community room at the new Temple B’nai Israel, at 1799 Tristan Drive, across the bypass from the south end of Washington Street.
The meeting schedule will remain the same as in years past, with one exception: the first meeting, on Sunday, Sept. 9, will begin at 3 p.m., and doors will open at 2:30. Thereafter, doors will open at 3:30, and meetings will begin at 4.
The society’s first meeting will feature Blake Edwards’ 1982 comedy Victor/Victoria, starring Julie Andrews, James Garner, Robert Prescott and Alex Karras. In keeping with TCS tradition, this film is the society’s gift to the community. Admission will be free for everyone.
“We know people will like what they see,” said TCS Grand Poo-Bah Pete Howell, “and want to become members.” Membership dues are $45 per person for the entire season. Anyone wishing to join is invited to send a check to: Talbot Cinema Society, P.O. Box 222, Easton, MD 21601. For more information, please contact Pete Howell at 410-924-5752 or [email protected].
