Talbot County Department of Social Services offered festival goers the opportunity to create a wind chime craft provided by the Department’s Nurturing Parenting Program at the recent Multicultural Festival in Easton. Staff also offered information on the Department’s many programs and initiatives. The Nurturing Parenting Program is a family-centered trauma-informed initiative designed to build nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglectful parenting and child-rearing practices.
The Department offers free classes for families to learn new ways to understand one another and have fun together using the evidence-based Nurturing Parent Curriculum. Classes can be completed either completely virtual or half-in-person and half-virtual and are open to all parents and guardians with children of all ages.
