It’s the time of year when sewer bills are due in Talbot County. The January due date for these bills has impacted furloughed Federal government employees and contractor employees who live in Talbot County and who may be having difficulty making payments on time.
The Talbot County Council voted unanimously to allow the Talbot County Finance Office to waive late fees (1 percent per month) and extend the payment date for six months for County sewer bills issued for the January through March 2019 billing cycle for residents who are Federal employees or contractor employees.
Corey Pack, President of the Talbot County Council, comments, “The Council understands the hardships associated with the recent furloughs – many of the people affected are our friends, family members and neighbors. We are pleased Talbot County can support those struggling at this time.”
