Library to Offer Program on Ecology of the Chesapeake Bay
On Monday night, November 4, at 6:30 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Bess Trout, Eastern Shore Field Specialist for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, will present “The Bay 101,” a program on the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay. Trout’s presentation will be the introductory program in a series of four programs on the health, history, and life of the Chesapeake Bay that the Talbot County Free Library, in partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, will be hosting during the month of November. Tom Horton will discuss his book, “Bay Country,” at the second program on Thursday, November 14; Herb Reed, of the University of Maryland Extension Service, Calvert County, will speak at the third program, on Monday, November 18, on the care and maintenance of septic systems; and on Monday night, November 25, the series will conclude with “Story-Tellers of the Bay,” featuring five of the Chesapeake’s finest yarn-spinners: Captains Fred Pomeroy, William Roe, Scott Todd, and Michael Vlahovich, and native Smith Island crab-picker and song-writer Janice Marshall. Each of these programs will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Easton library. All library programs are free and open to the public. Patrons are not required to pre-register for these programs. Children’s Stories and Art at Easton Library

Library to Offer Program on Dealing with Difficult People over the Holidays
On Thursday, November 7, at 6:00 p.m., the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library will offer a program on dealing with the difficult people during the coming holidays. How do you endure five weeks of excess: an overtaxed schedule, strained finances, unrealistic expectations, and people with whom you wouldn’t ordinarily enjoy lunch? Suddenly, it’s the holidays and you’re expected to spend quality time with these folks—and act as though you like it? Easton therapist and author Loriann Oberlin, LCPC will show you how to survive the holidays. All library programs are free and open to the public. St. Michaels to Offer Sewing Program
