The Talbot Historical Society (THS) is thrilled to announce their Annual Gala “The Wedding of the Century” to be held on September 22, 2023 at the breathtaking Myrtle Gtove Estate. This extraordinary event promises an enchanting evening filled with history, elegance and celebration. The original wedding ceremony of Robert Goldsborough and Sarah Nicols will be reenacted on the scenic setting of the Estate which serves as the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable gathering as it did originally in 1739. The ceremony is set to commence at 5pm and conclude at 7pm, offering a delightful experience that blends charm of the past with the spirit of the present.

Guests will enjoy culinary treats from Hambleton House Catering and captivating period music with a live performance throughout the evening that will surely set the tone for the celebration.

Tickets for the Gala are $150 per person with proceeds directly supporting the Society’s mission of preserving and promoting the County’s rich history and heritage.

This Annual Gala serves as the highlight of the year for the Talbot Historical Society and our entire community. “It is a time when we all come together to celebrate our shared history and our remarkable journey throughout the years,” said Peggy Morey, Executive Director of THS.

Tickets can be purchase online through the THS website or by contacting the Society at 410-822-0773. Join us for a wonderful event of history, comradery and the elegance of yesteryear.
