The pictured steamer “Majestic” was 201 feet long and was built in 1903! She was originally the excursion boat “Happy Day” out of New York. In 1925 she was brought to the Chesapeake Bay, was renamed “Majestic”,and operated on the Claiborne-Annapolis ferry run. In 1928 while under charter she sank coming up Baltimore Harbor, was raised and turned into a barge! Facts: “ Side Wheel Steamers of the Chesapeake Bay 1880-1947” by John Antonio Hain 1948.
