On August 11, 1954 at 3 am, a fire flared up behind the People’s Meat Market on the south side of Goldsborough Street near Washington Street in Easton, Maryland. The fire destroyed stores on Goldsborough Street and McCrory’s which had entrances on both Goldsborough and Washington Streets. This Talbot Historical Society’s H. Robins Hollyday photo is of the interior of McCrory’s 5 & 10 after the fire. Facts: “ Easton Album” by Norman Harrington 1986.
