The H. Robins Hollyday Collection contains many interesting 1920’s through 1960’s aerial photographs of Talbot County! The Easton Plaza Shopping Mall off of Glebe Road in Easton, Maryland was in the process of being developed in stages when this photo was taken. Marlboro Ave. was not even a finished road at that time! Glebe Road and Marlboro Ave. is such a busy intersection today! Do you remember when the teenagers of the area used to drive around and around in that parking lot? Maybe you were one of them?

Though it wasn’t that far back but it was so much riding the circuit back in the 80s through the 3 shopping centers. Made some lifelong friends doing that.

The large building is the bowling alley. We rode between there and the Tastee Freeze on Rt. 50 back and forth again and again. It was “roll the bowl & breeze the freeze “. My father said to me “ I was trying to go to the VFW but I couldn’t get there the car kept turning left on the road where the bowling alley is over and over and I never did get to the VFW.

Very cool.
I’d like to chat with you about your photos, and your knowledge for the book that I am writing- stories, vocabulary….I have a couple of old color (1979 110 film) pictures that I took, including one of my faves, a Red Tractor plowing the fields, where the “Mall” is . I am very close to making a n announcement over their P. A. “ Attention all shoppers! The tractor will be plowing your aisle…

The bowling alley and A&P parking lot was the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights. Seems like everyone was out and about. Rolling the bowl and breezing the Freeze was the thing to do. Good old days .
