July 7, 2023 by Talbot Historical Society

St. Michaels, Maryland was a much quieter place when this photo was taken c. 1900! The Talbot Historical Society database information identifies this store location as across the street from the Willow Street intersection. There are lots of people standing in front of the shop and what appear to be lamps in the windows that are for sale. Contact: Cathy Hill cvhill13yahoo.com to share your old photos and purchase our collections photos. Comment, Like our page and join the Talbot Historical Society!

I think that central building is 212 S. Talbot Street which was the home of Calico Gallery for a number of decades. The building to the left wasSailor, a popular clothing store, for several decades. The profiles of the buildings have changed somewhat, but the bones aare still there.
