The question is what were a group of men and seven donkeys doing on the baseball field at Easton, Maryland’s Federal Park? Possibly Donkey Baseball?? Donkey Baseball gained popularity during the Depression years in the mid-1930’s. The players, except for the pitcher and the batter, rode donkeys. The fielders often had to dismount to catch the ball and then remount to throw it! Have you heard stories that you can share proving donkey baseball was played in Easton? Can you identify any of these men? Seven of the men have the same hats on. Perhaps they belonged to the same organization in Talbot County?

They also played donkey baseball, in Queenstown, in the 1960s. The whole town would turn out to cheer them on!
