Local professional photographer Laird Wise took a series of pictures at the U. S. Rubber Field Day at Idlewild Park Easton, Maryland c. 1950’s and we are fortunate to have Mr. Wise’s photo Collection at the Talbot Historical Society! Love the Coke stand!! A couple of Interesting facts from the Coca Cola Company website are that Coca Cola was first bottled all over the country in 1899 ,their trademarked bottle was designed in 1915, and Coca Cola was first sold in cans in 1960!

Not to mention that Coca Cola was bottled right here in Easton on Bay Street. As a kid I can remember the local delivery truck driven by my hero “Calvin” would supply our well worn 10¢ Coke machine all the way past Chestertown that was used at our summer camp. Many years later I discovered a well worn piece of “beach glass” along our Bay beach, the bottom of a Coke bottle with “Easton” molded into the glass.
