Our house on Market St in Oxford was brought over by a barge in the 1800’s from Chapel Creek in Dorchester County. We sold the house in the 80’s and it no longer resembles the old house we loved with the original windows with imperfections and wonderful pine floors and with a back staircase.

Looks like a deckboat, also known as a buyboat. These boats were used to buy oysters during the winter season. In summer the boats hauled lumber, produce, etc. Winnie Estelle is a buyboat that carries visitors
at the Chesabeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels.
