Talbot Thrive is pleased to announce the artists selected for its upcoming Art in Motion exhibition, a dynamic showcase exploring the intersection of art, movement, and community. The exhibition will be on display at 17 E. Dover Street from July 11–20, 2025, in conjunction with the town’s Plein Air Festival.
There will be an opening reception on July 11 from 5-8 p.m when the public is invited to experience the works firsthand. As a highlight of the reception, two hand-painted bikes, designed by artists Shelton Hawkins and Saba Hamidi, will be auctioned off to support the mission of Talbot Thrive.
After receiving a wide range of submissions from across the region, the selection judges, Talbot Arts Executive Director Joan Levy and area artist Deborah E. Haynes, chose 14 artists whose work most powerfully reflects the exhibition’s theme—interpreting motion through trails, rhythm, transformation, and the body in motion. These works, which span painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media, offer unique perspectives on how movement shapes our environment, health, and shared spaces.
The 2025 Art in Motion exhibiting artists are:
- Janet DiNapoli
- David Dunn
- Mary Ford
- Rhonda Ford
- Lesley Giles
- Carla Huber
- Pat Lang
- Maire McArdle
- Em McDaniel
- Cynthia Miles
- Mike Miller
- Steven Sirota
- Stephen Walker
- Louisa Zendt
In addition to the works by the selected artists, an outdoor-themed piece by local sculptor Eddie Ford of Bad Ass Metal Works will be featured in the park adjacent to the gallery space.
A portion of each sale will support Talbot Thrive’s mission to create safer, healthier ways for residents and visitors to move through Talbot County’s public spaces.
