The Talbot County Free Library (TCFL) is calling on local residents and library patrons to help shape the future of the St. Michaels branch by sharing their ideas about what library spaces and services they would like to see as a part of the expansion project. TCFL has selected Pamela P. Gardner, AIA, LLC to do a feasibility study that will determine how best to utilize the space in the existing St. Michaels branch, as well as in the planned 3,700 square foot addition. A key part of the study is gathering input from local stakeholders, citizens, and users of the library. Citizens can visit www.tcfl.org to access and complete the St. Michaels Expansion online survey. The brief survey asks participants to determine the importance of various services, features, and spaces that might be included in the expansion. The survey will be available through June 1st. Paper copies are available at both branches of TCFL at the public service desks. “Input from residents, library patrons, and staff is critical to ensuring that the expanded St. Michaels library serves the diverse needs of our community now and in the future,” said Dana Newman, Library Director. “The survey gives the community the opportunity to tell us what they believe must be included in the St. Michaels expansion if the library is to continue to play its essential role in the lifelong learning needs of our region’s people.” The results of this survey will be critical to the plans being created for the St. Michaels Library expansion.
