University of Maryland Memorial Hospital Foundation will host its annual women’s seminar, “From a Woman’s Point of View: Nurturing Your Physical and Financial Well Being” on Thursday, October 20 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Talbot Country Club in Easton.
Presentations will include: “Shore Regional Palliative Care Program and Advance Care Planning” by Lakshmi Vaidyanathan, MD, medical director, UM Shore Regional Palliative Care Program and “Measures Women Can Take to Prevent a Financial Crisis for Themselves and Their Families” by Elizabeth Spurry, CFP, CTFA, president, Tred Avon Family Wealth.
Lakshmi Vaidyanathan, MD is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. A member of the UM Shore Regional Health medical staff since 2001, Dr. Vaidyanathan’s clinical experience includes hospital medicine, perioperative medicine and hospice care. Her present work focuses on developing the regional palliative care program to align medical care with the goals and values of patients and their families, and improving quality of life while providing comprehensive support for patients with serious illnesses.
Elizabeth Spurry is the President and owner of Tred Avon Family Wealth Easton, Maryland. She is a Certified Financial Planner and Trust and Financial Advisor. She is actively involved with the Women and Girls Fund, For All Seasons, The Sultana Education Foundation, the May Foundation and the Planned Gifts Committee of the Hospital. Beth lives with her daughter Olivia and Fiancé Charlie Capute in Trappe.
