Easton Library to Offer Stitching Time
On Monday, January 13, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., the Easton branch of the Talbot County invites patrons to come in to work on their favorite project (knitting, crochet, card making, what-have-you) with a group. Limited knitting and crochet instruction will be provided for beginners. All library programs are free and open to the public. Patrons do not need to pre-register to participate in this program. St. Michaels Library to Offer Minecraft Mondays
On Mondays, January 13 – February 24 (except January 20&February 17), from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library invites youth 10 – 16 years of age to come in and mine for diamonds and battle creepers on the library’s laptops. Easton Library to Host the Official Book Launch for Islander’s War by Don Parks
On Thursday, January 16, at 6:00 p.m., the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library will be the site of the official launch of Don Parks’ debut novel, Islander’s War. Set during and just after World War I, Islander’s War portrays a traditional Chesapeake Bay waterman’s community as it undergoes a series of challenges and conflicts, both external and internal. The author of five works of nonfiction, Islander’s War is Parks’ first novel. The book is being brought out by Secant Publishing. Parks’ will give a reading from the Islander’s War, and books will be available for purchase and signing. All library programs are free and open to the public.
