PAINTING WITH LAURA – WATERCOLOR

If you’ve never painted before and you suspect you have not artistic talent, but don’t know how to create the effects you’ve admired in watercolor books or in galleries, this class is the right class for you. You’ll study exactly how to handle the paints to get the beautiful effects only watercolor can provide.

If you have never done any artwork before, this is your class! If it’s been a long time since you have done art, this is your class! Oil painting is a very forgiving medium. Laura will walk you through the process and gently guide you along the way.
WREATH MAKING

Your new Tulle Wreath will create a unique, festive decoration in your home and can easily be customized. Tulle and wreath frame are provided.

SCREEN PAINTING

Screen Painting began as a new art form in 1913 and by the 1940’s there were over 300,000 painted screens on doors and windows through-out Baltimore. With the advent of air conditioning, this magical folk art fell into decline. Today there are still a few artists continuing this rich tradition. . John hopes that his screen paintings create feelings of excitement and wonder. Each student will take home a keepsake screen. ( Aprox 14″ x 18)
MOSAICS
Instructor: Sue Stockman
Saturday, February 21st 9:30a.m – 4:00 p.m.
$40 Supplies/$80 Class
Sue’s work centers on her beliefs and encourages the use of recyclable materials and environmental awareness. Each participant will craft a small mosaic altar incorporating a wooden shelf. Altars will incorporate personal objects as well as a
wide array of supplied materials. Students will learn basic techniques needed to cut tile and glass while creating a space that reflects their internal journey. Come
explore and have some fun this February and leave with a beautiful mosaic altar for your special photos and objects.
