“We are beyond grateful to Women Who Care Talbot County for their incredible generosity and commitment to improving the lives of local children,” said Cristy Morrell, Executive Director of Critchlow Adkins.
Women Who Care Talbot County has generously awarded $17,000 to Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers at their January meeting. These funds will support the expansion of Critchlow’s yoga program across all five of their sites in Talbot County. An additional $5,000 match is expected from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation which has contributed to Women Who Care Talbot County chosen charities.
The collective impact of these gifts will give all of Critchlow’s children the chance to experience the many benefits of yoga, including mindfulness, and improved physical and emotional well-being. Through fun, age-appropriate activities, children will develop important skills like breathing techniques to help with stress and anxiety, building confidence, and creating healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

Women Who Care Talbot County is a dynamic group of women who come together for meetings three times a year to make a collective impact on local nonprofits. Each member pledges to donate $100 at each meeting, and at each gathering, one nonprofit is chosen to receive the combined donation. Their decision to support Critchlow Adkins’ yoga program reflects their commitment to nurturing the well-being and development of children in Talbot County.
“Our members are excited to support Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers and their efforts to bring such a meaningful program to children in our community,” said Karen Gadsen, a founding member of Women Who Care Talbot County. “Yoga has so many benefits, and we’re proud to be part of a project that will help children not only learn how to be physically healthy, but also to develop motor skills, learn mindfulness techniques, and enhance resiliency in the face of life events.
