Troika Gallery in downtown Easton is pleased to announce that Margaret (Peg) Walsh Fitzgerald has been hired as a fulltime gallery manager. Fitzgerald will assist gallery owners Jennifer Heyd Wharton and Laura Era in the daily operations of the gallery, which include fine art exhibitions, commissioned portraits, custom framing, restorations, and appraisals.
This sophisticated gallery specializes in fine, classically-based original art. Opened over 19 years ago, Troika Gallery is the longest operating gallery on the Eastern Shore, representing sought-after artists and a strong following of collectors and art enthusiasts. The gallery’s congenial atmosphere has created a loyal following and made this one of the Eastern Shore’s most beloved art galleries, along with the added space of a friendly working studio found nowhere else on the Eastern Shore. Gallery owners Laura Era (LauraEra.com) and Jennifer Heyd Wharton (JenniferHeydWhartonFineArt.com) are both respected professional artists who continue to pursue their painting and portrait careers. Along with new gallery manager Peg Fitzgerald, they are pleased to give guided tours and in-depth insight into this captivating world of fine art.
“We are so fortunate to have Peg join us,” says Laura Era. “Her art expertise, business acumen, and engaging personality are the perfect fit for Troika Gallery.”
“Laura and I could not be more blessed to have Peg join our team,” adds Jennifer Wharton. “With her business and art knowledge, she balances out our troika.”
Peg Fitzgerald received a B.A. degree in English Journalism/Art History from the University of New Hampshire, with additional studies at Johns Hopkins University. She is a graduate of the Shore Leadership Class of 2010. She has extensive background in marketing, public relations and communications, including positions at Talbot Hospice Foundation, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, St. Michaels Community Center, The Walters Art Gallery, and The National Art Museum and Gallery Guide in New York. As editor of the Art Now College Art Series, she authored an art history series and researched artists in historical context to contemporary issues.
Fitzgerald has an enduring love of art and passion for community involvement. She was a participating painter from 2011 to 2015 in the Arts in Easton banner program, and a member of the Plein Air Easton volunteer support staff since 2007.
“I’m so excited to be here,” she says of her new position. “This is my dream job! It’s a return to my love of art and interacting with people.”
