The R.J. Phillips Band has just released a unique tribute to Boatwright, Jim Richardson, and his bugeye, the Jenny Norman. Readers can listen to this recording here.
Well known along Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Jim’s credits included reconstructing the Dove at St. Mary’s City and building the bugeye, Jenny Norman, which he completed in 1989.
A native of Cambridge, Mr. Richardson received an honorary doctorate in 1978 from Salisbury State University for his work in preserving the culture of the Eastern Shore. The Richardson Maritime Museum in Cambridge bears his name.
Sadly, Jim passed away in 1991.
