Go ahead with the needs of the community…deconstruct the building in such a way that bricks ( if there are any) could be repurposed for driveway use thus keeping the spirit of such a memorable icon alive. A plaque could be erected on the property noting the historical site. The housing area could be named like Academy Place…something like that…make everyone happy that the spirit of Academy school will live on! 👸
