C.J. Cornelius, a retired Lieutenant Colonel whose military career spans 24 years and includes services as an intelligence lead in the Gulf Wars, is the founder of the national Metavivor Group (Metastasis & survivor combined) for stage IV breast cancer patients, is a metastatic breast cancer patient who was driven to action by what she experienced when her breast cancer metastasized. She will speak on a host of issues affecting breast cancer patients, accompanied by a PowerPoint slide show. She will share her own diagnosis and will explain the many differences between breast cancer and metastatic breast cancer (MBC); the gaps in support, awareness and research that typify the stage IV cancer community; and how and why a MBC-specific support program was first established. Cornelius will offer hope and inspiration to all who attend.
Cornelius has published a number of articles on metastatic breast cancer including Thirty Percent for Thirty Percent, Trying to Stay Alive on Two Percent and Prevention … Underfunded or Overfunded?
