Historical Society of Talbot County – June events

Colonial and Federal Period Furniture – lecture by W. Brien Pierce
7:00 pm
Historical Society Museum, 25 S. Washington St., Easton

Furniture construction techniques, the evolution of furniture design, and the effects of economics and politics on home furnishings will all be topics of discussion by W. Brien Pierce. Mr. Pierce has been making reproductions of period furniture since the 1970s, and knows the subject from the inside out. He will share his expertise with us all.

Food for Thought  – “Downton Londonderry: Life Upstairs and Down”

Londonderry Manor at Londonderry Retirement Community, 700 Port St., Easton

As part of the Food for Thought series of lunch – time discussions, the Historical Society of Talbot county will present “Downton Londonderry: Life Upstairs and Down” on Wednesday, June 12 starting at 11:30 am at the Londonderry manor house.

Stories of the staff and families will be told while touring the manor, followed by a delicious lunch provided by Londonderry’s dining room.  The tour will include both the beautiful rooms used by the family and the smaller spaces used by the servants.  Cost is $20 per HSTC member and $30 per non-member.
