On Thursday, August 8 at 1:30pm, the public is invited to join CBMM’s Assistant Curator of Watercraft Richard Scofield as he explores the history, culture, and craft of the iconic Chesapeake log canoe. The program is to be held in CBMM’s waterfront Van Lennep Auditorium, with seating limited and pre-registration needed.
Scofield, a master shipwright and avid sailor, has spent his life on the Chesapeake Bay racing and crewing these iconic vessels. Through stories and photographs, he will share his experiences restoring, competing, and appreciating these log canoes.
The cost to participate is $8 for CBMM members, or $14 for non-members. To pre-register or for more information, call 410-745-4941. (Photo by Nikki Davis)
