Local History Novelist Barbara Lockhart to Appear at TCFL

Barbara LockhartOn Thursday, October 24, at 6:00 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, local author Barbara Lockhart will speak about her historical novel, “Elizabeth’s Field—Stories from Dorchester, Then and Now,” which explores the realities and turmoil of pre-Civil War Dorchester County.  Lockhart is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Vermont College.  She’s the recipient of two Individual Artist Awards in Fiction from the Maryland State Arts Council and is also the author of several children’s books.  A book signing will follow Lockhart’s presentation.  All library programs are free and open to the public.  Patrons do not need to pre-register for this program.  For more information, call the library at 410-822-1626, or visit www.tcfl.org.
