“THE MUSIC OF TILGHMAN” Mother’s Day Concert
This free concert on May 9th celebrates Mother’s Day with a selection of music from Broadway shows, presented by the talented vocal ensemble Heart & Music. Their music will inspire, entertain and take you back in time.
“The Tilghman United Methodist Church (TUMC) is excited and pleased to have Heart & Music perform here.“ says Debra Brookhouser of TUMC “our concert series is about celebrating the work of our local and regional artists and Heart & Music’s cast not only includes local artists that are dear to the hearts of our community, but talented people from around the region. Most importantly they are a perfect fit for Mother’s Day. Their music ranges from lively to sentimental and this concert provides a lovely way for families to celebrate the special day.”
The Heart & Music production was established five years ago by Ed and Beth Langrell to perform a special annual program to benefit For All Season’s behavioral health and rape crisis center. This special Mother’s Day program is being offered as part of the Music of Tilghman Concert Series. The ensemble includes Gail Aveson, Maureen Curtin, Ellen Barry Grunden, Jane Copple, Katie Cox, Marcia Gilliam, Bill Gross, Beth Anne Langrell, Ed Langrell, Amy Morgan, Lisa Roth, Heather Scott, John Swann, Joe Tyler, Karen Twigg, and Ricky Vitanovec. In keeping with their mission, Heart & Music’s cast plan to donate their fee for this concert to For All Seasons. The next concert is July 11th with Shelly Abbott performing Summer Music and Bob and Susan Jones of Zéfiro performing Brazilian Choro Music.
This series is funded and organized by the Tilghman United Methodist Church, sponsored by the Tilghman Waterman’s Museum and sponsored by the Talbot County Arts Council with funds provided by the Talbot County Council and the Towns of Easton, Oxford, and St. Michaels.
The Free Concert starts at 6:00PM on May 9th at the Tilghman United Methodist Church. For more information call Debra Brookhouser at 410-886-2881 or email [email protected].
