Talbot Hospice recently officially opened its newly expanded and renovated facility, the Eleanor A. Koons Hospice House and the Clark-Guthrie Center at 586 Cynwood Drive in Easton. This coincides with the organization’s new status this year as a general license medical hospice. Talbot Hospice will host public tours on Monday, October 26, 11 a.m. to 12 noon and Wednesday, October 28, 4 to 5 p.m. of its new Eleanor A. Koons Hospice House and the Clark-Guthrie Center.

The new 10,000 square-foot addition has essentially doubled the footprint of Talbot Hospice’s facility and includes six new patient rooms with smart bed technology for optimum comfort and safety. Each bed connects to a nurse call system which includes a bed exit monitoring system, patient positioning system and an integrated scale. The nurse call system will monitor, track and report over 30 individual patient data items. The facility has also added two caregiver stations and a fully commercial kitchen, a private family area, recliner chairs, pull-out sofas, speaker docs for therapeutic music, and a designated space for Talbot Hospice’s chaplain. The adjoining renovated Clark-Guthrie Center offers a bereavement center, a large meeting/training room, office space for Talbot Hospice medical staff, storage space, green space and additional parking.

Talbot Hospice is located at 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD. To reserve a place on a tour, call 410-822-6681 or email [email protected].
