A Forum on Maryland Tax Policy

October 17, 2014 by Talbot County Republican Council

Share

Every one is affected by Taxes. It’s a silent issue. You can’t touch it, and you can’t see it, but in the end it affects your life. Learn about the effect of taxes on state and local business and ultimately on you at a free public forum on Tuesday, October 21 7PM at the Avalon Theater.

The forum will be keynoted and moderated by Republican Council president Dr. W. David Montgomery, an international economic consultant. The panel will consist of Dr. Will McBride, chief economist of the Tax Foundation, an independent tax policy research organization, Al Silverstein, president of the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce, and Maryland district 37B delegate Jeannie Haddaway.

Dr. Montgomery will provide an overview of Maryland tax policy. Dr. McBride will discuss how taxes can impact an economy. Silverstein will discuss the affect of state and local taxes on local business, and Haddaway will discuss the politics of taxes.

Following the presentations the meeting will be opened for questions from the audience.
