The Market at Dover Station is a splendid place to shop this September! Brimming with unique offerings, new merchants have joined market favorites, the events and activities are engaging, and the fine art beckons.

In the Market’s Gallery at Dover Station, a First Friday reception celebrates the Saint Michaels Art League’s new exhibition of members’ works viewable and for sale through October.

Several Market Partners and Vendors of note in September include the following:

Maddie and Beth Millholland, a mother and daughter team from Delaware, have opened Proof. In business since 2017 with a location in Lewes, this boutique offers a curated selection of contemporary women’s apparel and accessories including clothing, hair accessories, fashion jewelry, scarves, shoes and home decor. Maddie chuckles when telling their origin story, “We came up with the name Proof to prove to my Dad that we could open our own store and succeed!” Indeed they have.

Nora Drayton from Oxford, Maryland, is the head mermaid at The Shabby Mermaid, where no two items are alike. In addition to coastal inspired handmade necklaces, bracelets and earrings made from gemstones, oyster shells, and locally gathered sea glass, Nora offers home décor like hand painted and decoupaged oyster shells and wreaths, vintage mirrors encrusted with oyster shells and sea glass, and sea glass vignettes and mosaics.

Four of the oil painters with a space at the Market are Plein Air Easton Alumni who are known for their distinctive interpretations of the regional landscape. Rhonda Ford of Easton has been painting in oil since she moved here in 2017. “I enjoy the challenge of creating paintings that will speak to people and draw them in.” Maggii Sarfaty, also of Easton says, “I hope to make the world a better place through a life of art. Plein air and theatrical design are my passion.” Christopher Best of Annapolis finds the moods of nature as seen through the quality of light to be his main inspiration. Diane DuBois Mullaly of Easton, a recent inductee into the Plein Air Easton Hall of Fame, is an oil painter of small vibrant palette knife paintings. “I create a sense of place, capturing the light, energy and soul of my subjects.”

Tempi Design Studio is the creation of Eastern Shore artist Eileen Catherine Marie. Her work conveys a new dimension in wearable equestrian art, carved in wax and then cast in bronze, sterling silver or gold alloy. “As an artist, I strive to capture the charm and enchantment of my subject while maintaining the precision of the moment.” Marie’s lovely selection of earrings, pendants, buckles and more has great appeal to all who love horses.

J Scott Bruce Photography offers dramatic large scale photographic prints of regional imagery that feeds the soul. Bruce’s immersive images of the Chesapeake Bay, its inhabitants and culture, capture viewers and transport them away from the busyness of the world.

Bird Song is a retail shop featuring a curated assortment of antiques, fine art and decorator pieces. Owner Robyn Clem has developed a discerning eye over her years in the auction business from which she has stepped back. She offers high end yet functional furniture, silver, signed crystal, oriental pottery, antique shore-themed paintings and more.

Dover Station offers stunning spaces for weddings, meetings and family gatherings. It also hosts classes and activities including yoga, dancing, pottery, and woodworking for kids and adults. Coming very soon in phase II is a café, and phase III a future brewery.

Since it opened on November 30, 2024, The Market at Dover Station has established itself as an upscale regional hub showcasing the work of fine artists, glass, pottery and jewelry artisans, a selection of antique and vintage goods, fresh flowers and fine chocolates, handmade balms and lotions, and more. Market partners also offer interior design, landscape design and maintenance, custom wedding gifts, and many other unique finds.

The Market at Dover Station is located at 500 Dover Road, Easton, Maryland 21601. For hours, events, and more information, please stay informed at www.doverstation.com and sign up to follow on social media.
