The Academy Art Museum invites the community to a Membership Open House on Saturday, January 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering visitors a chance to explore all the Museum has to offer while locking in 2025 membership pricing before rates increase on February 1.

Whether joining for the first time or renewing, guests can take advantage of this limited-time opportunity. New members who join on January 31 will receive a full year of membership at 2025 rates, while current members can renew on site at the same pricing and extend their membership for a full year from their existing expiration date—no matter when it falls.

As a special incentive, the first 200 people who enroll in auto-renewal will receive a free, limited-edition screen-printed T-shirt illustrated by artist Galen Marquess.

The Open House will also celebrate the grand opening of the Museum’s new Printmaking Studio, featuring live printmaking demonstrations by Scott Spector of Bay Imprint alongside instructor Rosemary Cooley. Visitors are encouraged to tour the Museum’s studios, meet instructors, and speak with Director of Education and Interpretation Matt Moore about upcoming classes and workshops. Families can enjoy Family Art Day activities led by youth instructors in the new children’s studio.

Guests will also have the opportunity to explore current exhibitions, including Rauschenberg 100: New Connections, an immersive exhibition centered on Robert Rauschenberg’s monumental 100-foot color photograph Chinese Summerhall. Rarely exhibited due to its scale and fragility, the work offers an extraordinary glimpse into Rauschenberg’s first journey to China and his creative partnership with master printmaker and Eastern Shore resident Donald Saff.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit: https://academyartmuseum.org/openhouse
