Adkins Arboretum’s popular Soup ’n Walk program continues Saturday, November17 with the theme, Nuts and Berries for Wildlife. Search for dazzling yellow fall color and nuts and berries that nourish wildlife during winter. Plants of interest include tulip tree, paw paw, and hickory leaves, hickory and beech nuts, oak acorns, and the berries of dogwood, holly, sumac, hearts a bursting, devil’s walking stick, and Jack in the pulpit.
Following a guided walk through the Arboretum’s woodland, meadows and wetland, enjoy a delicious and nutritious lunch along with a brief lesson about the meal’s nutritional value. Copies of recipes are provided.
