St. Michaels Art League is pleased to announce that John Davis Held will be teaching a three day workshop entitled Artistic Breakthrough – Taking Your Art to the Next Level, on Sat., Sun., Mon., April 9, 10, 11, 2016, focusing on lifting the quality of your art to the next level. The workshop will be held at M.E.B.A. Engineering School, 27050 St. Michaels Rd, Easton. The costs are $225 members/$270 non-members. Whether you primarily use watercolors, pastels or oils, this artist has much to share on how to improve your work as an artist.
“Many landscape artists reference photographs to develop their compositions with precision and detail. John Davis Held’s starting point is both more nebulous and more engaging,” states Jeffrey Carlson, Editor of Fine Art Today.
When we saw the work of John Davis Held in the Troika Gallery, we were quite excited when he agreed to do a demo for the League.
“There are eight keys to improving your art, and I’m really looking forward to sharing these with the wonderful people I meet this spring,” said Held.
This workshop is a rare opportunity to work with an artist who is committed to seeing you improve your skills regardless of your medium. Each day there will be a demo followed with plenty of time to paint and individual attention.
John is a lively, engaging instructor. His unique perspective on the artist’s path as well as creativity is inspiring. “We’ll have a great time,” the artist promises; and having attended his demo, we have no doubts about that! John is a member of both the Oil Painters of America and the International Guild of Realism.
