The St. Michaels Lady Saints Varsity Basketball team started the season on December 6 against a strong Parkside High School team. The Lady Saints handed first year Head Coach, Michael Turner class of 2008, his first loss of the season. The final score was 81 to 6.
The Lady Saints played their second game of the season on December 10 at cross county rival Easton High School. The Girls did show some improvement, but fell to the powerful Warriors 59 to 7.
On December 11, the Lady Saints fought hard and showed a great deal of improvement on both offense and defense but fell again with a score of 41 to 8 To Cambridge South Dorchester.
The Girls traveled to Snow Hill Thursday and the final score is not known at this writing.
The next home game for the Lady Saints is this coming Monday December 17 at 4PM against the powerhouse Queen Anne High School.
The ST Michaels Boys Varsity basketball team started the 2012-2013 season on Thursday December 6 against a very strong Parkside team. The Saints were playing under a new Coach, Matt Sheridan who came to us from Queen Anne County. The team struggled against a much stronger team and lost 119 to 25.
On Monday December 10, the Boys faced the cross county rival Easton Warriors. Some improvement was shown but the final score was 83-19 in favor of the Warriors.
The Saints played their home opener against Cambridge South Dorchester on Tuesday and lost their third straight game 70 to 30. The high scorer for the Saints was Jacob (JT) Tollett with 7 points.
Thursday, the Saints played very well against Snow Hill High School, showing substantial improvement on both Offense and Defense but fell again with a score of 54 to 40. The high scorer for the Saints was TyRiece Wilson with 14 points.
The next game is Home against Queen Anne High School a very strong team who are looking forward to playing against their former coach.
