Hello, my name is Boomer. I’m giving my best smile in my photo, but I’m really feeling very sad. You see I once had a home, but lost it through no fault of my own. Now I sit in my kennel hoping someone will come along and fall in love with me and give me another chance…this time forever. I’m quite handsome, smart and sweet. I always do my business as soon as I’m let out of my kennel, so that means I’m probably house-trained. I’m very well-behaved on the leash and enjoy a nice walk. I lived with another dog in my previous home so I enjoy canine companionship. Everyone here at the shelter makes sure I have the best of care and the volunteers make sure I get outside everyday, but that’s just not the same as having a home of my own where I’ll be a special member of the family. Do you think you could help me put the spring back in my step? I promise with your help I’ll be a wonderful addition to your family.

Maxene is a 2 year old, tortoise colored, spayed, domestic short-haired cat. She was found as a stray and brought to Talbot Humane on 6/29/12.

All cats have been micro-chipped, temperament tested, FeLV/FIV tested, received all required shots, and have been spayed or neutered. All they need is a loving, forever home.

Thelma is a 4 month old, black and brindle, spayed, German Shepherd mix. She was transferred to Talbot Humane on 5/5/12 from another shelter.

Have you heard the news that there’s been a puppy explosion at Talbot Humane?  Well, everything you’ve heard is true!  A whole bunch of us lucky dogs were loaded in a van down in Georgia where the prospects for adoption aren’t good and brought all the way to Easton so we could have a good chance at forever homes.  However, when we were checked out by the vet, it was found that one of us was very sick, so all of us had to be put in quarantine to be sure the rest of us were o.k.  I’m very happy to report that we’re all healthy now and ready to go.  Now we’re all waiting for that special person to choose one of us to take home with them.  We’re each a little different, so you need to come on down to the shelter and decide who you want to make a member of your family.  We’re all still babies, so a good training class will help us to grow into the best dogs ever.  And while I agree that Talbot Humane is a wonderful place, the most wonderful place of all is a furever home.  Can you help me put a happy ending at the end of my journey?

If you’re considering adopting a puppy, some  things to keep in mind are that they need to be house-trained; they are very high energy and need lots of exercise; they jump up with enthusiasm; they nip; and they will chew up anything they can get ahold of.  All of these behaviors can be corrected with patience and training, but if you have small children who may be frightened by the jumping and nipping, or you don’t have the time for training, you may want to consider an older dog.
