Carpe Diem Arts And St. Michaels Community Center Present A Celtic Celebration

December 10, 2016 by Carpe Diem Arts

Celebrate the magic of the Winter holidays on December 17th when Chris Noyes, Tinsmith (Brooke Parkhurst, Henry Cross and Rowan Corbett), and the 7-member Ocean Orchestra, along with special guests Corinne Ducey (Irish step dancer) and Randy Wlelch (bagpiper) come to St. Michael’s Auditorium to celebrate Yuletide.

Their program will feature British Mummer’s play recitations, traditional English and French carols, foot-stomping Scottish and Irish fiddle tunes, 19th century broadside songs, and original seasonal compositions celebrating both the joy of the Season of Light and the introspection of the dark half of the year.

With their soaring vocals and high-energy instrumentals, they are known for marrying light hearted exuberance with great spiritual depth.

Jennifer Cutting’s original anthem, “Song of Solstice,” has become a classic on Celtic and Folk radio; and her all-faiths hymn, “Light the Winter’s Dark,” has been recorded and performed extensively by other artists.
