#2-Bembe Beach

Bohl Architects of Annapolis, MD and Hudson, NY is pleased to announce that Jennifer Martella has joined the firm. As a resident of Talbot County, she will market the firm’s services throughout the Eastern Shore and Ms. Martella will serve as an integral part of the design team for projects she brings to the firm. She will be the main contributor of Bohl’s blog “Tango Funhouse” where she will highlight the firm’s vision and other fun aspects of life & design.

Bohl Architects has a legacy of providing residential architectural services for private clients for over forty years. The firm has completed designs for hundreds of homes specifically to engage the views of rivers, bays, valleys, mountains and cities from urban lofts to new or renovated homes and large estate properties. The architectural styles range from historic preservation, traditional, eclectic to unique site specific modern art houses.

The firm’s award-winning work has been featured in print nationally and internationally. Recent publications include AD (Architectural Digest), Veranda, NYC & C, Annapolis Home and H & D Chesapeake Views. The firm has an active presence on Instagram, @bohlarchitects, where we engage and highlight the fun goings on and our most up to date creative endeavors. Send us a DM anytime, we read every comment and love responding!

Prior to relocating to the Eastern Shore in 2004, Ms. Martella was the Principal of Martella Associates, the first woman owned architectural firm in her native state of Tennessee. The firm grew from a sole proprietorship to twelve professionals in architecture, interior design and landscape architecture. Notable projects included a collaboration with the Maya Lin Studio for the renovation of a historic barn into a library for the Children’s Defense Fund’s corporate retreat in Clinton, TN, several HUD Neighborhood Revitalization projects, four branch libraries, a Five-Year Indefinite Services Contract for departmental reorganization and relocation, interior design and furniture specifications for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and numerous residences. HUD Secretary Jackson awarded the firm a Special Citation for their first neighborhood revitalization project and the White House awarded the firm an Earth Day 25th Anniversary White House Award for intensive research and specifications on TVA’s Sustainable Architecture Program.

Ms. Martella will continue to write her weekly column for the Spy and she will also continue to host weekly wine tastings at Piazza Italian Market on Friday and Saturday.
