Delmarva Review Announces Six Pushcart Prize Nominations

December 21, 2015 by Delmarva Review

Share

The Delmarva Review announced six Pushcart Prize nominations for poetry, fiction, and nonfiction by authors featured in its 2015 edition. Pushcart editors invite nominations annually from the Review and other selected small presses for the top national awards.

Maryland author Wendy Mitman Clarke, of Centreville, was nominated for her poem “The Kiss.” Two additional poetry nominations from the Review include “The Vision,” by Catherine Carter, of North Carolina, and “Early Storm” by Wendy Mnookin, from Massachusetts.

“Brotherhood of Men,” by Jenny Ferguson, of South Dakota, was nominated for short fiction. Two essays received nominations: “Connected,” by Shawna Ervin, of Colorado, and “Dolma,” by Caroline Sutton, from New York.

The six nominations were chosen from 44 poems, seven stories, and eight essays published in the eighth annual edition of The Delmarva Review. Pushcart editors will select winners to publish in the 2016 anthology, The Pushcart Prize: Best of the Small Presses XLI.

The prestigious literary prize honors writing published in small presses “dedicated to exciting, innovative and eclectic prose and poetry”

For writers, the 2016 submission period for The Delmarva Review is open now through March 31, 2016. The submissions link is on the guidelines page of the website www.delmarvareview.com.

The Delmarva Review, published annually by the Eastern Shore Writers Association (ESWA), is open to all writers, regardless of residence. Additional financial support comes from contributions and a grant from the Talbot County Arts Council.

The Review is available at Amazon.com and other major online booksellers, in print and electronic editions, as well as at the News Center, in Easton, Mystery Loves Company, in Oxford, and The Writer’s Center, in Bethesda.
