Easton Skatepark and Pump Track Ribbon Cutting Set for December 27

December 11, 2023 by Spy Desk

The Town of Easton is excited to announce the opening of the new Easton Skatepark and Pump Track. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on December 27th at 2pm in the southernmost parking lot of North Easton Park. Mayor Megan Cook, Town Manager Don Richardson, and Town Engineer Rick Van Emburgh will be among the Town Officials to attend and speak on the culmination of this exciting project.

We hope that anyone interested in the skate park and pump track can “drop in” for this event and enjoy an inaugural ride after the ribbon cutting. Anyone who plans to attend and ride should wear proper safety equipment (helmet, knee/elbow pads) when riding and must adhere to the posted park rules.

Town officials are well aware of how excited residents are for the opening. Mayor Megan Cook remarked “We’ve been really excited to open up, and we know residents have been eager to get out there and ride, but we had to make sure everything was complete and done right.”

Cook went on to add, “The park turned out fantastic, and riders are going to be impressed with the craftsmanship and the artistry that went into the design and construction. I can’t wait to see all of the kids (and adults!) out there enjoying it.”

The skate park and pump track feature ramps, hills, and rails that offer challenges for riders of all skill levels, including those just starting. Project Manager Kody Cario said, “The tracks were designed to accommodate those new to the sport, as well as seasoned riders. I’d encourage everyone to try these new activities now available in Town.”

The Easton Skatepark and Pump Track were both part of a bond project construction plan helmed by the Town of Easton Engineering team of Van Emburgh and Project Manager Kody Cario. They utilized bond money acquired in 2020 to help conceptualize the idea for the project, and worked directly with Spohn Ranch Skateparks, PumpTrax USA, and Easton’s Public Works teams to make the concepts a reality.

According to Town Engineer Rick Van Emburgh, the projects turned out exactly as imagined. Van Emburgh said, “We are very proud of the end result. The Skate Park and Pump Track are wonderful additions for our Town Residents and we expect they will draw people from surrounding communities as well.”
