Evergreen (formerly Evergreen Cove) invites everyone in the Mid-Shore to a “Picnic & Music on the River” from 11a.m.-3p.m. on Sunday, September 9 to celebrate its new name, new look and new offerings to help veterans in the area. This community-centered event celebrates the arts and is a chance for anyone seeking more balance in their lives to explore Evergreen’s programs and services. The free concert by Chester River Runoff and other local musicians is also an opportunity to just enjoy a family-friendly, Sunday afternoon at Evergreen’s park-like spot at 770 Port Street on the Tred Avon River near Easton Point.
Activities for the day will be kept relatively simple. Evergreen has invited artists from local art leagues to paint on the property for the day and several other musicians will play at various times throughout the event. Guests can picnic and kids can enjoy simple games and activities such as juggling, henna tattoo art and “slacklining”, a new popular activity that teaches grace and balance. Evergreen’s facility and grounds will be open for people to explore while, indoors, experienced teachers and local experts will be offering short, introductory talks on topics such as Soul CollageTM, the “golden spiral”, acupuncture, and life coaching. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic or even something to share. Beverages will be available.
