Experience ‘Bear Me Into Freedom’: An Immersive Journey through Frederick Douglass’s Legacy

During the Waterfowl Festival the Talbot Historical Society will feature daily showing of “Bear Me Into Freedom”, in an immersive video experience.
An additional time has been added due to popular demand!
Show times are 11am, 1pm and 2:30pm. Seating is limited to 12 per showing. Please get your tickets at Talbot Historical Society, 25 S. Washington Street, Easton, Maryland. Cost for tickets is $10.

As America Celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, A Tribute to Frederick Douglass Who Extended Its Ideals to All Americans
“Bear Me Into Freedom: The Chesapeake Odyssey of Frederick Douglass” tells the story of the civil rights leader’s journey from abject poverty and enslavement to becoming a transformational figure whose fiery oratory and compelling writing advanced America towards the fulfillment of its founding ideals.
“Bear Me Into Freedom” is being developed by the Bear Me Into Freedom Project to support Maryland’s 250 observance. It is a video installation incorporating leading edge technology to capture the epic struggle of Frederick Douglass to achieve the Declaration’s promise that “all men are created equal”.
