Kailini Clarke ’’16, of The Gunston School, was recently named a 2015 Carson Scholar. She is among 525 students to receive this prestigious honor this year. The Carson Scholars Fund is a national, nonprofit organization founded by Ben Carson, the world-renowned Pediatric Neurosurgeon.
The Carson Scholars Fund awards college scholarships to select students in grades 4-11 who excel academically and display humanitarian qualities through community service Scholarship winners receive the honor of being named “Carson Scholars” and are awarded an Olympic-sized medal and a trophy for their school to celebrate their accomplishments.
Kailini will be honored later this month at an award ceremony in Baltimore, where she will meet Dr. and Mrs. Ben Carson.
