Maryland Governor Hogan appears to be following up on his promise to address the state’s heroin problem.
As Josh Hicks writes in the Washington Post, “the Hogan administration on Tuesday announced plans to begin treatment of heroin addicts in eight Maryland county jails and detention centers with a drug that could keep them from using once they are back on the streets.”
Last year, almost 600 people died from heroin overdoses in Maryland, double the number in 2010.
