Contrary to the modern trend of losing social capital in communities, as documented by Robert Putman in his seminal book Bowling Alone, the Tidewater Rotary is actually building it in Talbot County. Over the last few years, the community service organization has doubled its membership and has big plans for 2025, including its ongoing support of Talbot Hospice.
One of those goals, of course, will be hosting a bowling fundraiser in Easton.
The Spy asked Joe Petro, the Tidewater’s president, Stacia Skinner with its fundraising committee, and Molly Kirsch, Executive Director of Talbot Hospice, to join us for a Zoom call last week to discuss those projects.
This video is approximately four minutes in length. For more information about the Tidewater Rotary, please go here.
